Cynthia Mickens Ministries Summer STEAM Learning and Feeding Innovation Camp

WFAA: North Texas Summer Camp Keeps Children Safe, Teaches How to Launch Own Businesses

This Year Marks the 11th Anniversary of Cynthia Mickens Ministries (CMM) Free Summer Learning and Feeding Camp.
Each year, CMM hosts a dynamic four-week camp serving youth ages 6 to 14. The camp emphasizes Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM), providing students with engaging, hands-on learning experiences that foster creativity, critical thinking, and innovation. Through our partnership with Esposure, students are also introduced to the emerging field and business of esports.
In addition to academic enrichment, every participant receives two hot, nutritious meals and a daily snack, ensuring that both educational and nutritional needs are met in a safe and supportive environment.
We are deeply grateful for the generous support of our sponsors, including Atmos Energy, Frost Bank, and the City of Hutchins, whose investments make this camp possible.
We also value our camp partners who enrich the student experience through specialized instruction and engagement opportunities, including the North Texas Food Bank, Crossroads Community Outreach, the City of Hutchins, and Dr. Cynthia Mickens Ross’s Path~Way to Purpose® course for youth.
Support Learning
For the past 18 plus months, students have struggled to stay on track with their school work. To support continued learning, CMM launched a support learning camp that provides free daily two-hour sessions with a tutor to help students get back on track.
